Sevprirodnadzor monitors compliance with the regime in specially protected natural areas

Sevprirodnadzor employees regularly patrol specially protected natural areas of the region. During the last raid, key areas were examined — the state natural landscape reserve «Cape Aya», the natural monument «Laspi Rocks» and the Baydarsky reserve. No violations of the established visiting regime were identified.

Specially protected natural areas are areas of special ecological, scientific and cultural significance that are protected as part of the national natural heritage. In Sevastopol, 19 such objects have the status of regional significance. On their territory, restrictions have been introduced on economic and recreational activities aimed at preserving biodiversity and natural heritage.

The protection regime for each such territory is developed individually on the basis of scientific research and is officially approved. It is designed to protect rare species of flora and fauna, including those listed in the Red Book, unique landscapes of the Crimean mountains, historical and cultural monuments, as well as sources of drinking water.
