Showers with thunderstorms and stormy winds are coming to Crimea

According to the Crimean Department of Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring, in the evening and until the end of the day on October 24, at night and in the morning of October 25, rain is expected in Crimea, with very strong thunderstorms in the southern, central and eastern regions. Strengthening southwestern winds with transition to northwestern winds of 15-20 m/s, in some places up to 25 m/sthe message said.

Rescuers warn about the risks of emergencies and accidents at housing and communal services facilities, an increase in the number of accidents on the roads, disruption of transport links and possible flooding of territories.

There is also a possibility of incidents occurring in the waters of the Black and Azov Seas and the Kerch Strait.

The presence of people in the coastal zone, on piers and shore protection structures is life-threatening. There is a threat to the life and health of the population due to the possible fall of billboards, weakly reinforced structures, trees and possible broken power linesthe Ministry of Emergency Situations warned.

The department urges residents and guests of Crimea to avoid going to forests or mountains for the duration of the storm warning, not to go into the sea or inland waters, as well as to embankments or shore protection structures.

It is also important to clear storm drains of debris and leaves and check the serviceability of drainage systems. Those who live in close proximity to water bodies and in areas of dry river beds are advised by the Ministry of Emergency Situations to take measures to preserve their property.

Drivers are asked to limit travel whenever possible, and if this is not possible, to strictly follow traffic rules.
