Simferopol floods with rain today, but a storm warning has been announced for the weekend

CrimeaPRESS reports:

Today until the end of the day in Simferopol heavy rain. Bad weather has already become an indirect cause of traffic jams on the roads of the Crimean capital and a number of accidents. But these are not all the problems that motorists and utilities may encounter. And not only in Simferopol.

During the day on April 28 and in the first half of April 29, water levels are expected to rise by 0.5-1.5 m on the rivers of the northern foothills and the South Coast without reaching dangerous levels. Under these conditions, there is a high probability of occurrence of emergencies associated with accidents at energy facilities, housing and communal services, an increase in the number of traffic accidents, violations of transport communications, difficulties in the movement of vehicles on roads, long descents and ascents, dangerous turns and mountain passes. Flooding is possible— reported in the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Crimea.

A storm warning has been issued for April 29-30. Rescuers warn: rain is expected throughout, heavy in places.
