Simferopol: urologists of the RCH named after. N. A. Semashko performed two unique operations for complex kidney cysts
Urologists of the Republican Clinical Hospital named after. N.A. Semashko performed two unique minimally invasive operations to rid patients of complex intrarenal cysts. The interventions were performed using retrograde intrarenal surgery using video endoscopic technologies for the purpose of transurethral drainage of kidney cysts.
As explained by the chief freelance urologist of the Ministry of Health of Crimea, head of the urology department of the RCH named after. N. A. Semashko Rudolf Gevorkyan, this method is used for surgical treatment of patients with complicated, hard-to-reach kidney cysts.
Its essence lies in the fact that surgeons insert thin, flexible video endoscopic instruments through the natural urinary tract and reach the inner cavity of the kidney without the need to make incisions on the body. Then, using laser energy, according to a predetermined plan in a specific place, communication is made between the cyst cavity and the kidney cavity. After which the fluid filling the cyst is emptied (flows out) through the natural urinary tractnoted the press service of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Crimea.
The use of this technique ensures the least trauma to the renal tissue (parenchyma), and constant visual control during surgery eliminates the risk of complications. After such operations, patients recover quickly and are discharged from the urology department as soon as possible.
