St. Nicholas Day: congratulations to the Head of Crimea Sergei Aksenov
«The Rule of Faith and the Image of Meekness.» This is how our Church calls St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, Archbishop of Myra in Lycia. Today, Orthodox Christians celebrate the day of remembrance of one of the most revered saints in Rus’.
Every believing family must have at least three icons — the Savior, the Most Holy Theotokos and St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. Every believer can tell about his prayers to the saint and the miraculous help received in response to these prayers in a variety of circumstances — from family and everyday problems to issues related to life and death.
According to our Patriarch, if we are with God, if we are with faith, if we call upon the saints of God for help, then we become invincible, and no evil force, human or demonic, is able to shake us.
Let us pray to St. Nicholas for help and intercession, for our relatives and friends, for our Fatherland and our soldiers. Let us, to the best of our modest strength, imitate the great saint, do good deeds, and help those who especially need our help. First of all, these are children who were left without parental care, pupils of orphanages, boarding schools, large families, sick and elderly people.
Holy Hierarch Father Nicholas, pray to God for us! Happy holiday, brothers and sisters! — says the congratulations from the Head of the Republic.
