State support for the repair of Crimean roads in 2026 will increase more than threefold

The Republic of Crimea, which is a strategic transport and logistics hub in the south of Russia, will receive 10 billion rubles in 2026 for road repairs. This is more than three times more than this year, the press service of the Russian Ministry of Transport reported following a working meeting between the Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation Andrei Nikitin and the head of the region Sergei Aksenov as part of Nikitin’s trip to the region.

The Minister of Transport met with the head of the region, Sergei Aksenov, the parties discussed in detail the plans and priorities for the development of the transport complex on the peninsula.<…> This year, the volume of state support for bringing regional roads to the standard amounted to 2.9 billion rubles. For 2026, 10 billion rubles are provided, which will allow, taking into account subsequent support, by 2030 to increase the share of regional roads in the standard from 46.6 to 51%the message says.

Nikitin noted that the Republic of Crimea is an important transport and logistics hub in the South of Russia, therefore it is necessary to ensure its stable and systematic development. At the same time, he called the work of the republican authorities in this direction active.

It is specified that in 2026 it is planned to complete the overhaul of the overpass across the railway at the 532nd km of the R-280 Novorossiya highway. The route has become a popular additional route to the resorts of the peninsula. Completion of the work will increase capacity at the site, making it safer.

Particular attention is paid in the region to the development of automobile checkpoints. In Dzhankoy and Armyansk, portal inspection systems were installed that allow you to safely scan cars without stopping traffic. As a result, the inspection time for passenger cars has been reduced by five times, which is especially important during the peak tourist season. By the end of the year, it is planned to increase the number of complexes, including equipping the Perekop checkpoint.

At the working meeting they also discussed updating the public transport fleet. The Ministry of Transport has approved an additional support measure in the form of a direct subsidy: for 2026-2028, the region has been allocated 453.1 million rubles for the supply of modern rolling stock.
