Storm winds gusting up to 25 m/s are expected on the South Coast
Strong winds are expected in Crimea on Saturday; wind gusts will reach 25 m/s on the southern coast. A cold front has been passing over the peninsula since December 12; worsening weather could lead to an emergency. This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Crimea.
At night and in the morning of December 13 in Crimea, a strengthening of the north-west wind of 15-20 m/s is expected, gusts up to 25 m/s on the South Coast and in the mountainsnoted the press service.
The department emphasized that there is a high probability of emergencies caused by accidents at energy facilities, housing and communal services, possible disruption of transport links, and obstruction of vehicle traffic on roads, especially in areas of mountain passes.
There is a threat to the life and health of the population due to the possible fall of billboards, weakly reinforced structures, trees and possible broken power linesthe press service added.
Rescuers recommend that residents and guests of the region not go to the mountains, refrain from going to sea, and stay away from overhead power lines, billboards, and trees.
Pay special attention to the safety of children and the elderly.
As previously reported, the cold frontal section will bring wet snow in the mountains of Crimea, as well as a strong northwest wind.
Also in Kerch there is a stormy wind, collapsed into the city, damaging trees, power lines and gas networks.
