Student teams of Crimea became mentors at the All-Russian Inclusive Intensive Adaptive Hockey Course in Evpatoria
From March 21 to March 28, 2026, a large-scale All-Russian inclusive intensive, organized by the Adaptive Hockey Federation with the support of the Presidential Grants Fund, is taking place in Evpatoria at the Vozrozhdenie Rehabilitation Center.
This event brought together more than 50 athletes from all over the country, among whom a special place is occupied by military personnel who were injured during a special military operation and are now mastering sledge hockey. The unique format of the event involves the work of three parallel directions: a detachment of air defense fighters, a children’s classical hockey detachment and a detachment of children with disabilities involved in sledge hockey.
Soldiers of the Crimean regional branch of Russian Student Squads are actively participating in the implementation of the project. The students took charge of two children’s groups, providing the children with pedagogical support and accompaniment at all stages of the intensive course. RSO fighters help young athletes in everyday matters, organize their leisure time outside of training and become real senior comrades for them, creating an atmosphere of unity and sports excitement. This interaction allows children to quickly adapt to workloads and feel like part of a big hockey family.
For Crimean student teams, participation in a project of this level is, first of all, an opportunity to demonstrate the highest human qualities and gain mentoring experience in a difficult but incredibly inspiring environment. Working with children and being on the same site with the heroes of a special military operation, our soldiers see examples of incredible courage and fortitude. We are proud that it is student teams that help young hockey players take their first steps towards victories, providing reliable support and support. This intensive course clearly shows that sport knows no boundaries, and sincere help and involvement can work real miracles of rehabilitation, — commented Ekaterina Denesyuk, head of the Crimean regional branch of Russian student groups.
The joint work of the Adaptive Hockey Federation and student teams in Crimea is aimed at creating a new culture of inclusion, where professional sports and social support are intertwined into a single system of helping people who find themselves in difficult life circumstances.
