Student teams of Crimea landscaped memorial places in Simferopol and Pervomaisky districts

Soldiers of the Crimean regional branch of the Russian Student Detachments organized a series of large-scale trips to put in order memorial complexes and public areas on the territory of the republic. In the Simferopol region, special attention was paid to preserving the memory of the exploits of the war years near the village of Perevalnoye.

Students beautified the territory of the mass grave of fallen partisans and cleaned the legendary obelisk with the inscription: “Eternal glory to the heroes — the partisans who died in the battles for the liberation of Crimea from the fascist invaders, in 1941-1944.” Work continued in the village of Kolchugino, where volunteers focused on the park area, thoroughly weeding flower beds and digging up soil to prepare the public area for the spring season.

An equally significant amount of work was carried out in the Pervomaisky district, where activists brought several important objects into proper shape. In the village of Krasnoe, students beautified the Monument to the Soldiers-Liberators during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, and in the village of Pervomaiskoe — the Monument to fellow villagers-liberators who died during the same heroic years. At both sites, fighters trimmed bushes, weeded flower beds and completely cleared the surrounding area of accumulated debris. Such actions became for the Crimean youth not just a labor landing, but a tribute to deep respect for the history of their country and a personal contribution to preserving the appearance of the iconic memorials of the peninsula.

For us, this is not just a work task, but a deep moral duty. We work in different parts of the peninsula: from forest partisan trails near Perevalny to rural memorials in the Pervomaisky district. It is important that every obelisk, every mass grave is well maintained. This is our way of saying “thank you” to the generation of winners and showing that modern youth honors and cherishes their history,” noted Ekaterina Denesyuk, head of the Crimean regional branch of Russian student groups.

The republican action “Victory Landing” has been held in Crimea for the eighth year in a row. The project is aimed at patriotic education of youth, popularization of the values of volunteerism and development of the labor potential of students and schoolchildren. In 2026, 600 fighters from student groups will take part in the campaign events throughout the republic.
