Student teams of Crimea took part in the district patriotic action on Mamayev Kurgan
The delegation of the Crimean regional branch of Russian student groups took part in the large-scale district patriotic action “Let us bow to those great years.” The event, which brought together representatives of the student movement from 8 regions of the Southern Federal District, was held in the hero city of Volgograd.
The program included a solemn procession along Mamayev Kurgan. The key moment of the ceremony was the laying of flowers at the Eternal Flame in the Hall of Military Glory and at the graves of the defenders of the Fatherland. Participants observed a minute of silence in memory of those who gave their lives in the fight against the Nazi invaders.
The district action “Let us bow to those great years” this year has a special significance: it is timed to coincide with the 83rd anniversary of the defeat of the Nazi troops at Stalingrad — a battle that became a turning point in the history of the Second World War.
The district action “Let us bow to those great years” is the most important stage in the system of patriotic education of youth in the South of Russia. For the delegation from Crimea, participation in the solemn procession in Volgograd became a landmark event. Being on the holy land of Stalingrad, we especially feel the responsibility for preserving historical truth. Today, student teams are not only labor successes, but also a strong foundation of civic values,” noted Ekaterina Denesyuk, head of the Crimean regional branch of Russian student groups.
The patriotic action is aimed at preserving the historical memory of the events of the Great Patriotic War and the civic and patriotic education of youth.
