Summer is coming: Crimea is preparing for the high holiday season
Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Crimea Yuri Gotsanyuk took part in a meeting of the Government Commission for Tourism Development, which was held under the leadership of Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko.
Since the beginning of the year, Crimea has already been visited by 564 thousand tourists. By the beginning of the high season, 1,112 accommodation facilities, 360 beaches, 486 tourist routes and 212 display objects will be ready for operation in the republic.
Particular attention is paid to infrastructure development: the improvement of the Great Crimean Trail, which is more than 750 km long, continues, and 23 places for car camping are equipped. The main flow of vacationers goes through the Crimean Bridge — this is 85% of the total tourist flow, however, the land route through new territories is becoming increasingly popular, which reduces travel time.
The capacity of checkpoints on the border of Crimea and the Kherson region has been increased almost five times — up to 10 thousand cars per day. Transport links are provided by 230 bus routes, and in the summer season 20 pairs of trains will run, covering 48 regions of Russia.
For the convenience of tourists, 730 tourist navigation signs have been installed along the roads. There are 11 multifunctional road service zones on the Tavrida highway, and 9 more are in the design stage.
