The action «Night of Museums» took place in Yalta
In the museum building on Ekaterininskaya Street, a theatrical performance “You, Darling, are good in all your outfits!” was held. This is a story about the history of fashion in the middle of the 19th century, illustrated by an entertaining theatrical scene «Yalta Ladies at the Modist’s». The fashion story was revived by the outfits and dances of the late 19th century by the artists of the Tavrida Flower dance studio and guests from historical dance clubs in Moscow and Sevastopol.
The second part of the «Night of Museums» in this exposition was devoted to the history of the life and professional activities of the famous Yalta doctor V.N. Dmitriev, as well as the history of the acquisition by the museum of exhibits associated with his name. Senior researcher of the museum Zinaida Georgievna Livitskaya told about how she communicated with the relatives of the famous Yalta resident and managed to significantly replenish the museum’s funds.
In the Literary and Memorial House-Museum of N.Z. Biryukov, a creative meeting “My teacher is Valentina Tsvetkova” was held with the Honored Artist of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea Eleonora Shcheglova, who spoke about her teacher and friend, Honored Artist of Ukraine Valentina Tsvetkova. The meeting featured a collection of paintings by Valentina Tsvetkova from the museum’s funds, as well as paintings and materials from the personal archive of the artist Eleonora Shcheglova.
Guests of the «Night of Museums» action could dive into the times of antiquity during the theatrical event «Iphigenia in Taurida» in the museum’s exposition on Pushkinskaya Street. On the steps of the old building, the guests were met by young Greeks and Greek women in traditional antique dresses with golden olive branches in their hands. They told the ancient Greek myth about Iphigenia and invited the guests to get acquainted with the archaeological collection covering the history of ancient Taurica and the entire ancient world.
“History of educational organizations of the city of Alupka” is the name of the exhibition, which was opened as part of the All-Russian action “Night of Museums”. And it is no coincidence that 2023 has been declared the Year of the Teacher and Mentor, and the theme of the Night of Museums action is History and Stories.
The idea of creating an exhibition dedicated to the history of educational institutions in the city of Alupka was born on March 29 this year, when the Agreement on cooperation and interaction between our museum and Alupka secondary school No. 1 named after the Twice Hero of the Soviet Union Amet-Khan Sultan was signed. The exhibition presents unique photographs, documents and objects illustrating the history of the development of education in Alupka.
