The Artek International Children’s Center will host an olive harvest festival
The anniversary olive harvest festival will take place on Friday, November 21, at the Artek international children’s center in the Republic of Crimea. The collected olives will be sent to Russian military personnel in the Northern Military District, the center’s press service reported.
The holiday will take place in the olive grove of the Lazurny children’s camp, which was planted by veterans and employees of Artek on March 15, 1997 in honor of the 60th anniversary of the camp. In 2017, on the day of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Lazurny, new seedlings were planted in the grove; since 2016, a harvest festival has been celebrated here.
As part of the event, a plein air will take place, the participants of which will be young Artek artists. The olives collected by Artek residents will be sent to the Nikitsky Botanical Garden for processing and seaming. After that, delicious Artek parcels, along with letters from children from different regions, with the assistance of the Popular Front, will be handed over to Russian military personnel — participants in a special military operation,” Artek said.
