The Crimean Bridge has a new route layout. What you need to know
It will be possible to go through manual inspection before entering the Crimean Bridge from the Krasnodar Territory with luggage, the dimensions of each piece of which do not exceed 60×70 centimeters. There are no restrictions on the number of such small bags per person. This is stated in the response of the Russian Ministry of Transport to an information request RIA Novosti Crimea.
From April 29 the traffic pattern has changed in front of the inspection points at the Crimean Bridge from the Krasnodar Territory. At the Taman – Volna interchange, traffic flows are divided in two directions depending on the amount of luggage and its dimensions. Transport with oversized cargo, as well as passenger buses, are sent to the municipal roads of Taman through the exit for further inspection. Passenger cars with compactly packed luggage 60×70 cm are going for manual inspection along the A-290 highway in the forward direction.
The RIA Novosti Crimea website turned to the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation with a request to clarify: if, for example, a family of three is traveling to Crimea by car, does this mean that only one 60×70 bag is provided for each person, or can you go to manual inspection with several small-sized 60×70 bags per person?
Cars with luggage, the dimensions of each piece of which do not exceed 60×70 cm, are sent for manual inspection. There are no restrictions on the number of such small bags per person. A family of three can carry any number of bags measuring 60×70 cm in the carsays the response from the Ministry of Transport.
The main condition is that the dimensions of each individual bag correspond to the specified parameters, the ministry indicated.
If the same family of three travels to Crimea across the bridge with one large suitcase between them, such a car will also be sent for manual inspection. It is intended for cars with a small amount of luggage or compactly packaged items, in contrast to hardware (inspection and screening) control, which is used for vehicles with oversized or bulky cargo, the department explained.
Earlier, the head of the Association of Freight Carriers and Forwarders of the Republic of Crimea, Anatoly Tsurkin, said that when separating traffic flows to go to a manual or hardware inspection point before entering the Crimean Bridge, drivers cards will be issued with appropriate inscriptions. This measure will be in effect during periods of peak loads.
