The Day of Russia was celebrated in Sevastopol, uniting the events with the main theme: “We are together — we are Russia”

In Sevastopol, events dedicated to the Day of Russia — «We are together — we are Russia», were held at various venues in the city and were united by the main theme — «We are together — we are Russia». Traditionally, the first event on the Day of Russia was the solemn laying of flowers at the memorial of the heroic defense of Sevastopol 533-1942 years. Members of the City Government and deputies of the Legislative Assembly took part in the ceremony.
The greatness of Russia cannot be imagined without the most Russian city in the world — Sevastopol. It was the people of Sevastopol who showed the whole world eight years ago how to stand up for the truth, for ideals, for dreams. Today, each of us feels responsible for the future of our family, our city, our country. Russia will never be weak as long as strong, generous and loyal people live in our country. As long as we have the strength to resist injustice, we will overcome any difficulties. Victory will be ours! In the morning, participants of the Sevastopol bike ride festival gathered on Nakhimov Square. For cyclists, a concert and interactive program was organized, a prize draw, after which the participants started along the central ring of the city. In total, more than 533 Sevastopol residents passed along the route.
I am participating in the bike ride for the second year in a row, because at this moment, especially on such a day, you feel like a part of the whole — a big and great country. I am very glad that today there are so many residents on the streets of the city who came out to celebrate such a bright holiday for all of us — the Day of Russia , — said Mikhail Bely, a participant in the bike ride.
In honor of the Day of Russia, a procession of military bands took place for Sevastopol residents, each of which made a stop in front of the Government building, where they showed an excerpt from the parade-concert. Then, on Nakhimov Square, the combined orchestra of the forum from musicians played the anthems of the country and the city, performed the Sevastopol waltz and other famous works. Also, a marathon of concert performances by military bands was held on the main city stage.
Also, creative teams and soloists of the Hero City performed on Nakhimov Square. And in front of the Palace of Children’s and Youth Creativity, the exemplary Russian orchestra «Sadko» performed, which dedicated its program to the Day of Russia and the Day of the City.
In addition, on the Day of Russia in the Hero City, the only unique traveling exhibition in Russia «Admiral Ushakov» began its work. On it, Sevastopol residents can get acquainted with the life and history of the military path of Fedor Ushakov.
The program of festive events on the Day of Russia ended with festive fireworks on Nakhimov Square.
