The embankment in Feodosia is being improved. What’s happening now?

Improvement of the Feodosia embankment announced last November. As the head of the city administration, Vladimir Kim, reported, the preliminary improvement project was discussed with city residents and their wishes were taken into account.

By this time, along the entire seaside promenade, the descents to the sea have been dismantled — for now there are no steps, and empty openings are fenced off with warning tapes. Workers have also already removed lighting poles and old shade canopies, cladding from parapets and flower beds, and partially dismantled the tile covering.

As requested by residents, the tiles will not be replaced as the tiles are in good condition. Some sections of it were removed temporarily so as not to be damaged during the passage of heavy equipment, – the press service of the city administration explained to RIA Novosti Crimea.

According to the mayor’s office, the cast iron fence separating the promenade from the beach will also not be changed at the request of residents. By this time, the old shade canopies have already been dismantled and will be replaced with modern pergolas. Also, lighting poles and lamps are being replaced, and cladding on reinforced concrete flower beds is being replaced. In addition, new benches and trash cans will appear on the Feodosia embankment, and renovation of two fountains is planned.

The slopes to the sea will be repaired and freed from retail facilities. Several non-stationary retail facilities will be installed on the opposite side — along the green area of the embankment– added the resort administration.

As the press service emphasized, when adjusting design solutions for consultation, the city authorities involved one of the authors of the New Embankment project of the 70s, architect Alexander Kulabukhov.

The cost of the work is 88 million rubles. Their deadline by contact is September 1, 2026. At the same time, the head of the administration set the task of completing the work before City Day (the last Saturday of July — ed.), — The mayor’s office informed.

On March 10, the mayor of Feodosia Vladimir Kim reported thatunknown persons stole a cast iron fence on New Embankment, where landscaping is underway — the fences were also temporarily dismantled for the convenience of work and will be updated and returned to their place. Now the structural elements have already been found at the metal collection point, and the thieves are being identified.
