The exchange of bodies of dead military personnel between Russia and Ukraine is completed

Today, within the framework of the Istanbul agreements, Russia transferred 1,000 bodies of those killed from the Ukrainian Armed Forces to Ukraine. The Ukrainian side handed over to us 31 fallen Russian soldiershe wrote on Telegram.

Previous exchange took place at the end of August. Then Russia handed over 1,000 bodies of Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers to Ukraine and received in return 19 bodies of dead soldiers.

On June 7, the Russian side began implementing a humanitarian action to transfer to Ukraine more than six thousand dead bodiesexchange of wounded, seriously ill and prisoners of war.

Moscow and Kyiv held their third meeting in Istanbul on July 23. Following its results, the chairman of the Russian delegation, Vladimir Medinsky, stated that all humanitarian agreements of the second round of negotiations had been fulfilled.

The parties agreed to continue indefinite sanitary exchanges of the seriously wounded and sick. Russia announced its readiness to transfer another three thousand bodies of dead Ukrainian Armed Forces military personnel to Kyiv, and also proposed an exchange of prisoners in the amount of at least 1,200 on each side.
