On the basis of the Scientific speleo-paleontological complex «Cave» Tavrida «KFU. V. I. Vernadsky opened an exhibition of panels in the technique of patchwork.
The purpose of the exhibition is to draw people’s attention to environmental problems. We work with such topics as pollution of forests and water, extinction of Red Book animals and plants. Our exhibition has already been in Moscow, Kostroma and Barnaul. And now she is in the Crimea, because a year ago we visited the Taurida cave and were so impressed that we decided to bring the works here— the press service of the representative of the online school «Game in Color» quotes Yulia Zaikina.
All panels are made in the technique of improvisational patchwork using a sewing machine and manual labor. The works were made by craftswomen from Russia, Belarus and Italy.
The highlight of the collection this year was the theme «Cave of Taurida». One of the works is dedicated to her, which shows the beauty of the cave and the history of its appearance.
The exhibition is held within the framework of the environmental project of the online school of patchwork «Game in Color» with the support of the Crimean Federal University and the Russian Geographical Society.
You can visit the exhibition free of charge at the visitor center of the Taurida Cave complex until June 30.
Recall that the Scientific Speleo-Paleontological Complex was created on the basis of the Tavrida Cave as part of the Priority 2030 strategic and academic leadership program.
