As you know, another attack enemy drones to Sevastopol was crowned with relative success. After being hit by an UAV with explosives (“kamikaze drone”), a fuel tank caught fire near Manganari Brothers Street, in the Kazachya Bay microdistrict. According to the latest data, the fire area at the oil depot in Sevastopol is one thousand square meters. There were no casualties. All the necessary security services are on the scene.
Two questions. How critical for the city is such a loss of fuel tanks (fuel oil? diesel fuel?)? How dangerous is this from the point of view of ecology for the inhabitants of the surrounding microdistricts? For both questions answered Governor of Sevastopol Mikhail Razvozhaev:
The fire will not affect the fuel supply situation in Sevastopol. These reserves were not used to supply fuel to gas stations.
Rospotrebnadzor began to measure the MPC in the Kazachya Bay microdistrict, I will inform you about the results later.
Our firefighters are heroes. They act quickly and coherently. The fire is difficult, as rank 4 already wrote, but our firefighters cope with everything, but there are still many hours of work. I want to emphasize once again: the main thing is that no one was hurt. With the rest — we’ll figure it out.
The head of the interregional department of Rospotrebnadzor for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, Natalya Penkovskaya, also said that “in a residential area, all measurements will be taken for all indicators that are necessary in the event of an oil product fire«.
The results will be communicated through the website of Rospotrebnadzor. Experts have left— said Penkovskaya.
The fire at the oil depot started around 5:00. That is, it “smokes” in Sevastopol for almost 6 hours. The fire has already been contained. 4 tanks burned down (data to be confirmed). A fire train arrived at the scene, and Black Sea Fleet tugboats will also be involved in extinguishing the fire. Calculations from the Crimea came to the aid of Sevastopol firefighters. Optimistically… by the evening the fire will be extinguished. According to the latest information, there are no plans to evacuate residents of the area.
