The fire season starts in Crimea. More than 300 patrol groups will work
On April 1, the fire season starts in Crimea and Sevastopol. More than three hundred interdepartmental patrol groups will monitor compliance with fire safety rules on the peninsula. About this on air «Sputnik in Crimea» said the head of the department of supervisory activities and preventive work of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Crimea, Igor Skurtul.
He noted that the fire season starts on the peninsula from the moment of stable warm weather, and for several years now the Commission of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Crimea has decided to consider April 1 as the starting date.
To date, according to the head of the department, more than 400 fires have already occurred in Crimea.
Of these, taking into account weather conditions, more than 100 fires occurred in open areas. 80% of all fires are caused by careless handling of fire, including a cigarette butt thrown out of a car window due to wind load, an improperly extinguished fire, and so on.,” the speaker listed.
Special attention, the specialist added, when preparing the peninsula for the fire season is given to settlements in the category of those exposed to the threat of forest and landscape fires. This year, as previously reported, 535 settlements, out of 1019 in the Republic, were assigned this status.
In these settlements, attention is paid to cleaning the entire territory, both private and public, of debris and dry vegetation. Separately, targeted work was organized to clean up the territory, prepare fire-fighting water supply and fire-fighting mineralized strips along the boundaries of the plots“, the interlocutor explained.
All this work, he recalled, must be completed before the start of the fire season. With its start, Gospozhnadzor employees will begin control and supervisory activities, and if violations of the above requirements are detected, they will be held administratively liable and fines applied.
More than 300 interdepartmental patrol groups were created throughout the Republic on the basis of all heads of local government bodies, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and forestry. If these groups identify violations, they send this information to local governments to organize a municipal control commission. After the commission has made all possible decisions, the bodies of the State Fire Supervision of Gospozhnadzor are already getting to work— said the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
Over the past year, these groups, he clarified, brought to justice more than 800 citizens of the republic, about 4.5 thousand orders were issued, more than 1,000 protocols were drawn up by employees of the state fire supervision for violation of fire regulations.
The initiative to work with these patrol groups has proven positive, — said the specialist.
The studio guest also warned that violation of fire regulations or fire safety rules under Article 20.4 of the Code of Administrative Offenses will result in fines for officials from 20,000 rubles, for legal entities — up to 400,000 rubles. During a special fire regime, these figures are doubled, and the concept of “warning” is absent during this period, the speaker concluded.
