The floating crane that sank in the South Bay of Sevastopol must be raised by April 27, 2026
By order of the captain of the Sevastopol seaport dated November 11, the owner of the floating crane that sank in Sevastopol — JSC Zvyozdochka Ship Repair Center USC — was ordered to remove the vessel from the waters of the seaport by April 27, 2026.
Removal documentation must be developed by December 26 of the current year. Work on lifting the crane «PK-400» (building number 001 “Sevastopol”) must begin no later than February 11.
The order of the port captain states that the overturned floating crane poses a threat to the safety of navigation. In addition, according to a letter from the Black Sea-Azov Maritime Directorate of the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources, the location of sunken property — a floating crane of the PK-400 project — in the Black Sea causes harm to the environment.
On October 27, in the South Bay, on the territory of the Sevastopol Marine Plant (owned by JSC Zvezdochka Ship Repair Center, USC), a floating crane overturned while testing a loading device. As a result of the emergency, three people died and more than 20 were injured. The Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol opened a criminal case regarding violation of traffic safety rules and operation of maritime transport.
