The head of the Central Bank urged not to increase the volume of preferential mortgages
CrimeaPRESS reports:
When adjusting preferential mortgage programs, it is necessary to avoid increasing the volume of mortgages with state support, said the head of the Central Bank, Elvira Nabiullina.
The conditions for issuing preferential housing loans are determined by the government, the head of the Central Bank emphasized. It is important to avoid increasing the volume of preferential mortgages when changing the parameters of preferential programs, Nabiullina said, answering a question about changing rates on family mortgages. An increase in the volume of preferential lending could lead to a higher key rate, the head of the Central Bank warned.
Elvira Nabiullina added that preferential mortgage programs must be absolutely targeted. Massive preferential mortgages create an excessive burden on the budget and ultimately lead to an increase in housing prices.
Earlier, the Central Bank reduced the key rate to 16.5% per annum.
