The installation of the span arches of the “humpbacked” bridge has begun in Simferopol

In Simferopol, arches are being installed on the so-called “humpbacked” bridge, which runs across the railway tracks. As reported RIA Novosti Crimea In the Road Service of the Republic, the installation of the metal span arches of the bridge began on February 25. A 730-ton crane arrived in Simferopol specifically to install the spans.

The arches weigh 110 tons each. The total weight of the span is 287 tons,” the Road Service told RIA Novosti Crimea.

They also recalled that, in accordance with the order of the head of the republic Sergei Aksenov, the completion date for the construction and installation work of the Gorbaty Bridge (according to the documents — “a metal overpass of 1463 km + 591 m”) is December 1, 2026. On February 25, 2026, the contractor began work on the installation of the metal span.

Earlier, the head of Crimea announced the launch of vehicle traffic on the Gorbaty Bridge on April 1, 2026. Aksenov added that the contractor is currently fulfilling the daily work quota, which was designated in order to start moving towards the specified date.
