The Kuban Ministry of Natural Resources demands 34 billion rubles from the owners of the sunken Volgoneft tankers

According to the lawsuit, environmental damage to the environment is estimated at 34 billion 219 million rubles, losses to the regional budget — 30.7 million rubles.

As third parties, the court decided to involve the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation, the state government institution of the Krasnodar Territory «Regional Center for Geological Information, Monitoring of the Geological Environment and Mineral Reserves» Kubangeology «, the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education «Kuban State University».

The claim was accepted for proceedings on January 30. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 24.

Previously, the courts satisfied the claims of Rosprirodnadzor against the owners and charterer of the Volgoneft-212 and Volgoneft-239 tankers that sank in the Black Sea in the amount of more than 84.9 billion rubles.
