The new academic year for the Sevastopol fifth graders began with tax literacy lessons

Krympress reports:

Carrying out open lessons on tax literacy is a good tradition for the head of the Federal Tax Service of Russia in Sevastopol Alexei Mogila. A visit to the city educational institutions to communicate with the younger generation within the framework of the Yunga All -Russian project has become for the head of the management of the usual and mandatory beginning of the new school year. This year, to conduct an open lesson for fifth graders, the state budgetary educational institution of the city of Sevastopol «Ecotech+» was chosen.

Recall that Yunga is an educational project of the Federal Tax Service of Russia aimed at increasing the tax culture and literacy among schoolchildren. The main goal of the project is to form a positive attitude to the payment of taxes and the education of financially competent citizens in the younger generation.

Lessons under the project in the schools of Sevastopol have been held since 2022. Pupils learn interesting facts from the history of the tax system, what types of taxes exist, and why every citizen is obliged to pay them. The materials of classes are adapted to the age of students and include not only quizzes, but also cognitive games, watch videos and live communication with teachers, in the role of which tax inspectors act in tax literacy lessons.

The head of the department with specific examples explained to students how timely tax payment affects the payment of pensions and benefits. The guys learned that thanks to tax payments, schools, hospitals, roads and parks are being built, an army is contained and the work of social services is ensured. Schoolchildren listened with interest and took an active part in discussing issues about the importance of taxes in the life of every citizen. The theoretical part was replaced by an interactive quiz, where children were able to show off their knowledge. Fifth graders showed an excellent understanding of the topic, vividly answering questions. By tradition, at the end of the meeting, the students shared their impressions, fixing the most memorable moments on paper palms.

It is very important from childhood to lay the foundation of a tax culture. I am sure that the guys will grow responsible citizens who will understand that taxes are not just payments, but a contribution to the general future of our region and the country— shared his impressions Alexei Grave.
