The number of new POS loans decreased by 49% compared to January last year

The United Credit Bureau (UCB) has summed up the lending activity of citizens in January 2023 based on information from creditors who submit data to the Bureau.
The number of new POS loans decreased compared to the same period last year by 49%and the volumes 34%. For the first month of 2023, 298.4 thousand. POS credits for 19.7 billion rub., a year earlier — 587.5 thousand commodity loans for 30.0 billion rubles. The average POS-loan check increased by 29%: from 51 to 66 thousand rubles.
In terms of the volume of issuance of commodity loans, the top five included: Moscow — 22.7 thousand loans for 2.16 billion rubles., Moscow region. — 19.9 thousand loans for 1.68 billion rubles, St. Petersburg — 14.0 thousand loans for 1.05 billion rubles, Krasnodar Territory — 13.9 thousand loans for 1.01 billion rubles. and Tatarstan — 11.0 thousand loans for 680 million rubles.
The largest POS loans in January of this year were taken by residents of Moscow — 95 thousand rubles, Khabarovsk Territory — 87 thousand rubles, Moscow region — 84 thousand rubles, St. Petersburg — 75 thousand rubles, Leningrad region and Krasnodar Territory — 73 thousand rubles each.
In all regions of the TOP-30 in terms of issuance, there is a decrease in the annual ratio of the volume and number of issued commodity loans, while the average check is growing. The highest rate of decline in new POS loans is observed in the Altai Territory: the number decreased by 61%, and the volume — by 53%. The Khabarovsk Territory showed the smallest decrease in POS-lending volumes: -9% with a decrease in the number by 45%. The most significant increase in the average bill for the year was noted in the Khabarovsk Territory: +67%, from 52 to 87 thousand rubles.
