The project “Family carpentry workshop “Carpentry Art” has started in Sevastopol

In the village of Sugar Head, in the library-branch No. 28, the opening of the grant project “Family carpentry workshop “Carpentry Art” took place. The project combines family traditions, crafts and teamwork aimed at returning children and parents to their cultural roots and lively communication with each other.

As part of the project, participants will enjoy a marathon of master classes in carpentry, as well as 20 unique master classes on the design and creation of family heirlooms. Each family will be able to make products that will be passed on from generation to generation. The program includes the creation of boxes, photo frames and clocks. 150 young families living in rural areas will take part in the project.

At the opening of the project, under the guidance of an experienced craftsman, participants created bird feeders made of wood. Each child, together with their parents, was able to try themselves as a carpenter and make a product with their own hands. Participants then joined in painting woodwork with acrylic paints, creating unique designs.

I would like to note that the “Family Carpentry Workshop” is more relevant than ever. Today it is especially important to create spaces for communication, joint creativity and discussion of family values. As part of the project, we focus on the history of wooden products and folk craft traditions. This will help children and parents better understand and appreciate the rich cultural heritage of our countrysaid project manager Daria Lagoda.
