The Sevastopol Interdistrict Environmental Prosecutor’s Office checked the legality of the development of lands of the state natural landscape reserve of regional significance «Baydarsky».

It was established that in 2025, a citizen organized the storage of construction waste and soil dumps within the boundaries of the reserve — on three land plots that belonged to him and adjacent lands of the city. The waste was delivered by a commercial organization under an agreement with the owner of the plots. As a result of illegal actions, part of a specially protected natural area with a total area of ​​over 8.4 thousand square meters was polluted. m. Components of scrap reinforced concrete structures, concrete, asphalt, reinforcement, and bricks were found in the soil. The amount of damage amounted to more than 96.7 million rubles. The environmental prosecutor sent the inspection materials to the preliminary investigation body. Based on the results of their consideration, the investigation department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Balaklava district of Sevastopol opened a criminal case under Art. 262 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of the regime of specially protected natural areas and natural objects),” reported the press service of the Sevastopol prosecutor’s office.

The prosecutor’s office controls the progress of the criminal investigation.

In addition, the Balaklava District Court of Sevastopol is considering a claim from the environmental prosecutor to impose jointly and severally the obligation on an individual and a commercial organization to liquidate the landfill and compensate for damage caused to the soil.
