The prosecutor's office sent to court a criminal case on an accident on the highway «Tavrida», in which 3 people died

The Crimean prosecutor’s office approved the indictment in a criminal case against a young man who caused an accident on June 26 last year, an accident on the 184th km of the Tavrida highway. A Crimean is accused of committing a crime under Part 5 of Art. 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation by a person driving a car of the rules of the road or the operation of vehicles, negligently resulting in the death of two or more persons).

On June 26, 2022, at about 5 p.m., the driver of a BMW car, driving along the Tavrida highway from the city of Kerch in the direction of Simferopol, moving with a significant excess of the permitted speed, lost control and allowed a collision with cars of the brand «Renault» and «Nissan», which were on the road in the Belogorsk district in connection with the clarification of the circumstances of a traffic accident that had previously occurred between them. As a result of the incident, the driver and 2 passengers of the Renault car, including a 15-year-old teenager, died— recalled the circumstances in the prosecutor’s office.

With the approved indictment, the criminal case was sent to the court for consideration on the merits. The punishment under this article is up to 7 years in prison.
