The capacity of the railway communication is not enough to transport tourists to Crimea in the context of the growing tourist flow, which is why people will more often choose the road route through Donbass and Novorossiya. This was reported to TASS by the vice-president of the Alliance of Russian Travel Agencies, general director of the Pink Elephant travel agency network, Alexan Mkrtchyan.
The railway is absolutely unable to cope with the growing tourist flow. Already during the May holidays there is a terrible shortage of tickets and people are forced to get to Crimea by road. This year we expect that approximately 80% of tourists will get to Crimea by road and only 20% by rail. Of these people, 30-40% will choose the road through new territorieshe said.
Previously, the head of Crimea Sergei Aksenov reportedthat the tourist flow to the republic increased by 15% in 2025, reaching 6.9 million tourists. 76% of vacationers arrived by car and bus: 61% via the Crimean Bridge and 15% via Donbass and Novorossiya. Another 24% of guests took advantage of the train connection.
