The regional stage of the All-Russian competition “Russian Teacher of the Year – 2026” was launched in Sevastopol.

Five teachers from city schools successfully passed the correspondence selection by presenting video stories about their work, and have now moved on to face-to-face tests, which will be held at school No. 57 from April 6 to 10.

The competition program includes four tests: “Pedagogical Interview”, “Lesson”, “Master Class” and “Blitz Tournament”. The first stage was an interview, where the participants were able to demonstrate to the jury the depth of theoretical training and the ability to quickly apply practical knowledge to solve pressing problems of modern education. Subsequent tests will require not only methodological literacy, but also the ability to find non-standard approaches in live interaction with the audience.

At each professional skills competition, we discover the most creative and talented teachers. Each competition is an increase in the prestige of the profession and the identification of new methods and tools for teachers. Sevastopol is the patriotic capital of our Motherland, so every teacher must choose a topic so that it is closest to the city and its history. Participants will have to try to combine the educational, patriotic component and love for the Motherland— said Elena Andrus, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Science of the city of Sevastopol.

Alina Andritz, a Russian language teacher at the ECOTECH+ school, will have to bring these requirements into reality; Olga Senkova, primary school teacher at gymnasium No. 24 named after Eduard Asadov; Daria Sharkunova, an elementary school teacher at the Cossack Bay Educational Center, named after the 810th Marine Brigade; Daria Smirnova, primary school teacher at Bilingual Gymnasium No. 2; Olga Ivanova, mathematics teacher at school No. 58 named after Hero of the Soviet Union V.I. Kolyadina.

I expect positive emotions from the competition, an exchange of experience with my colleagues, which will be useful to me in my professional activities. I decided to take part because it was an opportunity to improve my professional skills. I think that participating in the competition will give me great experiencesaid Alina Andrits, Russian language teacher at the ECOTECH+ school.

The jury will sum up the results of the regional stage on April 10, after which the winner will receive the right to defend the honor of the city at the federal level. It is worth noting that the “Russian Teacher of the Year” competition has been held in Sevastopol since 2014, and over twelve years more than a hundred teachers have taken part in it, each of whom has contributed to the development of local education.
