The sale of a large batch of narcotic substances was prevented in Simferopol

Employees of the drug control department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Simferopol detained a 26-year-old local resident who showed suspicious behavior on one of the streets of the city. During a personal search, packages containing a powdery substance were found in the man’s shorts pocket.
When checking the contents of the detainee’s mobile phone, police officers identified the coordinates of the alleged hiding places. As a result of operational activities, 40 “bookmarks” were discovered and seized on the territory of Simferopol. At the place of residence of a previously unconvicted Simferopol resident, police seized a container with a crystalline substance, electronic scales and packaging material. According to the detainee, he purchased narcotic substances through a messenger, picked them up in a forest area and stored them for further distribution. According to the expert’s conclusion, 9 seized packages contained a narcotic drug — marijuana, with a total weight of 7.2 grams. The remaining packages contain a derivative of N-methylephedrone, with a total mass of more than 100 grams— reported the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Crimea.
The senior investigator of the police department No. 1 “Zheleznodorozhny” of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Simferopol initiated criminal cases under Part 3 of Art. 30 — part 2, 4 tbsp. 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The man could face a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison. A preventive measure in the form of detention was chosen for him.
