The second stage of overhaul of school No. 14 named after I.S. has begun in Sevastopol. Pyanzina

After completing the first stage of overhaul of school No. 14 named after I.S. Pyanzina in 2025, builders began complex work in the oldest building, erected in 1937. The school is being renovated in two stages as part of the national project “Youth and Children”.

Currently there are 773 children studying at the school. During the work, primary school students are temporarily housed in school No. 45, and middle and high school students are temporarily housed in school No. 60.

As part of the first stage, the four-story academic building built in 1961, where the high school is taught, was completely renovated. Thus, a powerful ventilation system with recuperation, heating and humidification was installed in the dining room, two additional bathrooms were restored, the workshops and home economics room were updated — with a new kitchen and equipment.

The second stage of construction and installation work covers a two-story building for an elementary school, a sports hall, facades, roofing and utility networks of the entire complex. The work is carried out on a turnkey basis: from the repair of floors and hipped roofs to the installation of new windows and modernization of low-voltage systems,” said Elena Boyko, head of the department for capital repairs of cultural, educational and sports facilities of the Unified Directorate of Capital Construction.

During the dismantling process, the builders encountered hidden defects in the ceiling between the second floor of the building and the attic, characteristic of pre-war buildings.

According to the chief engineer of the contracting organization, Yuri Yushkov, the builders will have to strengthen the structures, but this should not affect the deadlines.

School director Irina Ulybysheva emphasized that after the renovation is completed, the school will undergo a major modernization: air conditioners will be installed in all classrooms. Cold and hot water will be available in many offices. Modern equipment was purchased for physics, chemistry, biology, labor, music and fine arts classrooms. There are also plans to restore the shooting range premises, which have not functioned since the 80s.

It is planned that on September 1, children will already enter the updated educational building. Complete improvement of the territory, including the sports ground, will be completed by the end of 2026.

In total, in 2026, major repairs are being carried out in 6 schools in Sevastopol: No. 14, 28, 43, 34, 38, educational center named after. Revyakin, and 4 kindergartens: No. 16, 32, 103, 113.
