The Sevastopol Employment Service is implementing the “Professions Day” project for schoolchildren
This year, the first career guidance lesson was conducted by career consultants of the employment service Olga Yarotskaya and Yulia Vasilyeva for third-graders of school No. 23. The professions were represented by the parents of the students — a programmer, a police lieutenant colonel and an estimator.
I heard from other parents how their children liked the job guidance from the employment service. Therefore, when I was offered to participate in such a lesson, I immediately agreed. My profession is an estimator, and I gladly came to class to tell more about it— said Victoria Monakhova.
The project has been implemented by the employment service since 2024 and has already covered 12 city schools. 30 parents and more than 350 children took part in career guidance lessons. Plans for this year include holding “Profession Day” every month to help each child better understand themselves and make an informed professional choice in the future.
What I liked most about the lesson was the profession of a programmer. In the future I would like to create games or become a cartoonist. I like it because it’s all about technology. I hope that I can create my own game in the future,” shared 3rd grade student Leonid Admakin.
The “Professions Day” project is part of the comprehensive work of the Personnel Center “Russia’s Work” in Sevastopol on career guidance. Last year, the employment service provided more than 3.6 thousand career guidance services, of which over 2 thousand were provided to teenagers.
The events are carried out within the framework of the national project “Personnel”.
We would like to remind you that in January, the Ministry of Labor’s project on career guidance and youth routing was launched at the Personnel Center of Sevastopol, designed to help schoolchildren and students consciously choose a profession and build a career trajectory in their hometown. In 2026, employment service specialists plan to provide career guidance services to more than 2.5 thousand citizens.
