The Sevastopol prosecutor’s office sent a criminal case to court regarding the organization of illegal migration
The prosecutor’s office of the city of Sevastopol approved an indictment in a criminal case against a 42-year-old local resident and two foreign citizens aged 35 and 37 years living in Russia.
Together they are accused under paragraph “a” of Part 2 of Art. 322.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (organization of illegal migration). In addition, the woman is charged with committing crimes under the Part. 1 and 4 tbsp. 327 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (as amended on July 26, 2019 No. 209-FZ) (forgery of an official document granting rights and releasing from obligations, including for the purpose of concealing the commission of another crime).
According to investigators, two accused foreigners agreed to assist three compatriots in organizing their illegal stay and employment on the Crimean peninsula. Between May and August 2024, they provided them with a rented house in Sevastopol to live in and hired them to work on construction sites without official registration. The third accomplice, having special knowledge in the field of migration legislation, produced forged documents indicating their registration at the place of stay in Sevastopol.
Thus, the attackers created conditions for these individuals to evade migration control by law enforcement agencies. Their actions were identified and stopped by officers of the Russian Federal Security Service for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol. The investigation was carried out by the investigative department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol.
Currently, foreigners who were illegally in Sevastopol have left the Crimean peninsula.
Two of the accused are in custody; a preventive measure in the form of a written undertaking not to leave the place has been chosen against the third accomplice.
The city prosecutor’s office sent the criminal case to the Leninsky District Court of Sevastopol for consideration on the merits.
