Employees of the drug control department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Simferopol, during operational search activities, detained a 49-year-old resident of the Crimean capital. The man is suspected of attempting to sell synthetic drugs.
The investigation established that the city resident planned to distribute prohibited substances in a non-contact manner — through hiding places.
During the inspection of the home, police discovered and seized 12 Ziploc bags with prepackaged narcotic substances. The weight of individual portions ranged from 0.09 to 3.42 grams, and the total weight seized was 13.59 grams. In addition, packaging devices and scales for determining the weight of drugs were found.
Based on the results of the examination, it was established that the seized substance contained a narcotic drug derivative of N‑methylephedrone, known as “salt”, the circulation of which is prohibited on the territory of the Russian Federation— reported the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Crimea.
In addition to criminal prosecution, a protocol on an administrative offense under Part 1 of Art. 6.9 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation for refusal to undergo a medical examination for intoxication. The court sentenced him to administrative arrest for a period of 8 days.
The investigator of the police department No. 3 “Central” of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Simferopol opened a criminal case under Part 3 of Art. 30, part 4 art. 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Attempt at illegal production, sale or transfer of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues.” The sanction of the article provides for a maximum penalty of imprisonment for a term of up to 20 years. The suspect is in custody.
