The sliding of all superstructures of the automobile part of the Crimean Bridge was successfully completed

Today at 6: The builders successfully completed the operation of sliding the fourth span of the left side of the road part of the Crimean bridge. The movement of cars and buses on the right side of the bridge has been restored. This Rosavtodor.
This night the Crimean bridge was closed for restoration work from : 00 before 00: 00. Thanks to the experience and coherence of the actions of the bridgemen, vehicular traffic on the Crimean bridge was resumed at 6: 00 immediately after the release of the right side from the special equipment involved in the sliding. Restrictions on traffic were lifted five and a half hours before the scheduled date , — noted in the department.
After the completion of the sliding, the specialists began lowering the fourth span to the design position. To do this, the metal structure will be moved from a height of five meters using hydraulic jacks. The operation requires precision and will be completed in early February.
During the restoration work on the left side, the builders replaced four damaged spans of the road part of the bridge with a total weight of 1 224 tons. Three spans are already in the design position, work is underway on the installation of supporting parts and expansion joints.
After all the span structures are on the supports, the specialists will begin work on the restoration of damaged engineering systems, laying the lower and upper layers of asphalt pavement, install a barrier fence and lighting masts, mark the roadway, after which traffic on the left side of the road part will be restored.
As a result of the explosion that occurred on October 8, eight span structures were damaged on the Crimean bridge, four on each side of the road part. Restoration work on the right side was fully completed in 57 days. Bridge workers dismantled and replaced damaged spans, laid waterproofing and two layers of asphalt concrete, restored lighting, barrier fencing and applied new markings.
After the work was completed, the load-bearing capacity of the new superstructures was tested, according to the results of which the commission approved the launch of the transport. On December 5, the movement of cars and buses was opened on the right side of the bridge, after which specialists began preparations for the restoration of the left side of the road part , the Rosavtodor reminded.

Due to the fact that work at all sites was carried out in parallel, it took 20 days. In comparison with the restoration work on the right side of the road part, the time for sliding the new spans of the left side of the bridge was reduced by a third: from 12 up to 6.5 hours.

We did it five and a half hours earlier than planned. This is the result of high professionalism and experience of bridgemen. In early February, the span will be completely lowered into its design position. After it is completed, builders will be able to start laying asphalt, installing lighting and barrier fences. In March, we expect to open traffic on both sides of the bridge for cars and buses.
