The State Duma supported the launch of preferential mortgages for families with a disabled child — at 1%

We have a family mortgage that helps families with children purchase housing at 6%. But even the reduced rate is not available to many families raising a disabled child, since their expenses are often higher. This includes spending on medicines and care products, treatment, rehabilitation and much more, including ensuring special living conditions, a barrier-free environment and accessibility of amenitiesnoted the parliamentarian.

Investment expert, head of the federal program “Family Capital” Evgeny Tkachev, in a conversation with a Tsian.Zhurnal correspondent, emphasized that the launch of a separate program for families with children with disabilities, in my opinion, will allow those in need to improve their living conditions.

In the current conditions of the transition to targeted assistance, this proposal has every chance of being accepted. In my opinion, this is an excellent example of supporting families in dire need of it. Caring for a child with disabilities requires considerable physical and material effort. Often such families are forced to remain in housing conditions that are unsuitable for them and refuse to improve them“, the specialist emphasized.

Mortgage lending expert Yulia Anisimova also fully supports the initiative.

Targeted support for families with disabled children is necessary, as this is the most vulnerable category of the population. I think if such a mortgage appears, it will be quite strict in terms of requirements for the potential audience of the program“, the speaker concluded.
