On the eve of the summer season, the Kerch State Traffic Inspectorate is holding a “Road Safety Month”, within the framework of which a set of preventive measures is planned to reduce accidents.
Since the beginning of 2023, there have been 24 road traffic accidents in Kerch with victims, as a result of which 7 people died and 28 road users received injuries of varying severity. According to the analysis of accidents, the main causes of accidents were such violations of the Rules of the Road as non-observance of the order of passage, inconsistency of speed with specific conditions, driving into the oncoming lane, as well as violation of the rules for crossing the carriageway by pedestrians. In addition, this year there were 5 road accidents involving drivers who were driving while intoxicated, as a result of which 1 person died and 5 others were injured— reported in the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea.
In this regard, the employees of the State traffic inspectorate are taking a number of operational and preventive measures aimed at preventing road safety and reducing the severity of the consequences of an accident, namely:
– from May 06 to May 10, 2023 – “Drunk driver”,
— from May 11 to May 15, 2023 – Crossroads,
— from May 17 to May 21, 2023 – “Attention! A pedestrian!»,
— from May 22 to May 25, 2023 — «Oncoming lane».
As part of ongoing operational and preventive measures and actions aimed at preventing accidents and mutually polite behavior of road users, traffic police units will be brought closer to emergency hazardous places, and urgent administrative measures will be applied to violators.
Also, in order to prevent child road traffic injuries, on the eve of the summer holidays, schools will hold road literacy lessons, in addition, employees of the State traffic inspectorate will take part in parent meetings— noted in the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea.
