The tenant of a land plot in the Laspi nature reserve violated the regime — now he will pay compensation for damage

The Gagarinsky District Court of Sevastopol supported the position of the Sevastopol Interdistrict Environmental Prosecutor’s Office on the need to recover from the tenant of a land plot in the Laspi nature reserve the damage caused as a result of violation of the regime of a specially protected natural area.

As previously reported, the environmental prosecutor’s office, together with specialists from the State Budgetary Institution “Directorate of Specially Protected Natural Areas and Forestry of the City of Sevastopol”, conducted an inspection of the legality of using the lands of the state natural landscape reserve of regional significance “Laspi”.

It was established that on a plot of land leased from the city within the boundaries of the reserve, in violation of the regime of a specially protected natural area, concrete stairs and flooring were placed, the territory was covered with crushed stone, part of it was paved with tiles.

Damage from illegal actions amounted to almost 1.5 million rubles,” the department’s press service reported.

The environmental prosecutor sent a statement of claim to the court to recover the specified amount from the commercial organization that leased the site and to impose on it the obligation to liquidate the structures. The prosecutor’s claim was satisfied.

Previously, damages caused by illegal cutting of trees on this site were recovered from the same legal entity in the amount of more than 140 thousand rubles.

The prosecutor’s office will monitor the execution of court decisions.
