The traffic police of Sevastopol summed up the results of the operation «Night City»

The State traffic inspectorate of Sevastopol informs about the results of the preventive measure «Night City». During the raid, traffic inspectors pay special attention to identifying and suppressing the facts of driving vehicles by drivers who are intoxicated.

During the event, the traffic police prepared 9 administrative materials, including those concerning two drivers who were driving while intoxicated, one of them refused to undergo a medical examination.

In addition, a 32-year-old man, who had previously been deprived of a driver’s license and refused to undergo a medical examination for intoxication, was detained for illegal possession of a car. A criminal case was initiated against the man under Part 1 of Art. 166 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation «Unlawful possession of a car or other vehicle without the purpose of theft» and under Art. 264 .1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Driving a vehicle while intoxicated by a person subjected to administrative punishment or having a criminal record”) , the traffic police reported.

The State traffic inspectorate of Sevastopol recalls that driving while intoxicated is punishable by a fine of thirty thousand rubles with deprivation of the right to drive for a period of one and a half to two years. For repeated driving while intoxicated, criminal liability occurs under article 264. 1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which provides for a fine in the amount of two hundred to three hundred thousand rubles, up to imprisonment for up to two years.
