The traffic police of Sevastopol summed up the results of the preventive measure «Pedestrian crossing»

CrimeaPRESS reports:

The traffic police of Sevastopol held a preventive measure «Pedestrian crossing», aimed at preventing accidents associated with collisions with pedestrians.

During the preventive measure, the employees of the State traffic inspectorate compiled 14 administrative materials under Article 12.18 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation. For this violation, administrative liability is provided in the form of a fine in the amount of one and a half to two and a half thousand rubles.

Also, 8 pedestrians were brought to administrative responsibility under Part 1 of Article 12.29 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation for crossing the carriageway in the wrong place. The amount of the fine for this violation is 500 rubles.

The State Traffic Inspectorate reminds:

The driver of a vehicle approaching an unregulated pedestrian crossing must give way to pedestrians crossing the road or entering the carriageway to make the crossing. If a vehicle stops or slows down before an unregulated pedestrian crossing, the drivers of other vehicles moving in the same direction are also required to stop or slow down.

Pedestrians should move along sidewalks or footpaths, and in their absence, along roadsides. It should be noted that when driving along the side of the road or the edge of the carriageway at night or in conditions of insufficient visibility, pedestrians are advised to carry objects with retroreflective elements and ensure the visibility of these objects by vehicle drivers.

Preventive measures aimed at preventing accidents and ensuring the safety of pedestrians, as well as identifying drivers who do not provide advantages to pedestrians, will continue.
