There are no plans to introduce a tourist tax in Crimea. Bye…
The Crimean authorities consider the tourist tax to be an excessive administrative measure for local businesses, so there are no plans to introduce it in the region yet. This was stated by the head of the republic Sergei Aksenov on radio «Sputnik in Crimea».
From the point of view of new taxes (for the tourism industry — ed.), no changes are planned; we will not introduce anything. We did not introduce a resort fee, considering that it was an excessive administrative measure. And we will get relatively little money there. I think it’s not worth the trouble, we’ll just bother peoplesaid Aksenov.
According to the head of the republic, there is no point in introducing a tourist tax in Crimea, since the potential income from it will be comparable to the amount that will be spent on administering this type of payment.
Earlier it became known that from January 1, 2026, a tourist tax for the hotel business will be introduced in Kursk, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara and Tyumen. With the proceeds from this fee, the authorities expect to replenish local budgets, which will allow the development of tourism infrastructure.
The tourist tax came into effect in Russia on January 1, 2025. It is classified as a local tax, and regions can introduce it at will.
Hotels and resorts in Crimea for the New Year holidays are already booked at an average of 55%, for Christmas — about 40%, reported formerly the head of Crimea.
