Tourist flow to Crimea fell by a third this year

About 6.3 million tourists have rested in Crimea since the beginning of the year, which is 11% less than last year. This is reported with reference to the Minister of Resorts and Tourism of the Republic of Crimea Vadim Volchenko Interfax.

Tax revenues to the Crimean budget from the tourism industry for nine months amounted to 2.23 billion rubles, which is by 18% less than the same indicator last year.

According to the forecast of the Ministry of Resorts of the Republic of Crimea, at the end of the year, together with the data for the New Year holidays, the tourist flow will reach 6.5 million, but the figure will still remain about a third lower than last year.

Recall that the Government of the Russian Federation decided to allocate 1.6 billion rubles to support at least 1.5 thousand organizations in the tourism sector. This support, according to the Head of the Crimea Sergey Aksyonov, will allow to keep the teams and support accommodation facilities and enterprises of related industries.

In general, a number of significant measures have been taken to support the tourism industry: from zeroing the VAT rate for organizations in the hotel and tourism sector to grant support under the national project «Tourism and Hospitality Industry».

For example, this year the Republic of Crimea received a grant worth more than 500 million rubles, according to the results of the competitive selection, 11 projects of modern modular hotels, which will increase the number of rooms by 249 rooms and create about 100 work places. In total, grant support for the construction of modular hotels and the development of beach and tourist infrastructure in the Crimea received 63 projects. These funds will be used to improve 23 beach areas, put into operation warm pools in hotels and sanatoriums , — said in an interview with 877064 TASS Aksenov.

According to him, now the authorities of the Republic are working on additional regional measures to support the Crimean tourism industry, which is going through hard times.
