Transport infrastructure for a new cultural cluster is being created in Sevastopol

The Main State Expertise of Russia issued a positive conclusion on the construction of a tunnel and reconstruction of the highway in the area between Ochakovtsev and Pozharova streets. The transport interchange will ensure accessibility of the museum-memorial complex “To the Defenders of Sevastopol in 1941-1942 gg.» at Cape Khrustalny in Sevastopol.

The length of the city road tunnel, including ramp sections, will be more than 300 m. Several sections of the road more than 1 km long will also be reconstructed. The following streets fall into the reconstruction zone: Pozharova, Streletsky Spusk, Karantinnaya, Generala Petrova, Nefedova, Ochakovtsev.

The tunnel will connect the western and eastern regions of the north of the Leninsky District, bypassing the concentration of traffic flows at the Rebellion Square in Sevastopol. It will pass under existing buildings, due to their density in the city. The sections of highways adjacent to the tunnel will be brought up to standard values ​​during reconstruction and major repairs.

The architectural design of the tunnel portals is made in a single compositional style, which fits into the general color and texture scheme of the city of Sevastopol. The city’s coat of arms will be located in the center of each portal.

On the Western portal of the tunnel, a portal area will be installed, with a control center located on it. The reconstruction project also involves the reconstruction of all engineering communications within the boundaries of the work.

During construction, special attention was paid to the safety of the tunnel. In particular, measures have been taken to ensure its seismic resistance.

The developer is the State Public Institution of the City of Sevastopol “Directorate for the Development of Road and Transport Infrastructure of the City of Sevastopol.” The general designer is Vesta LLC.
