Veteran of the Great Patriotic War Stepan Krainyuk congratulated on his centenary in Crimea
On Victory Day, Simferopol District Prosecutor Sergei Zaitsev congratulated the veteran of the Great Patriotic War, Honored Agronomist of the Ukrainian SSR and honorary resident of the Simferopol District Stepan Mikhailovich Krainyuk, who is celebrating his 100th birthday on May 9.
Stepan Mikhailovich took part in the liberation of Sevastopol, including the assault on Sapun Mountain and the battles at Cape Khersones, fought on the Belorussian and Baltic fronts. During the fighting he was shell-shocked, injured the foot of his right leg. He was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War of the 2nd degree, medals «For Courage», «For the Victory over Germany 1941 — 1924», «For Courage».
In peacetime, Stepan Mikhailovich Krainyuk graduated with honors from the Crimean Agricultural Institute, was engaged in agronomic and pedagogical work. On the job, he completed postgraduate studies in the specialty «General Agriculture», defended his thesis and was awarded the degree of Candidate of Agricultural Sciences.
The veteran shared with the guests memories of his feat of arms and labor activity for the benefit of the Crimea in the post-war years. In turn, Sergei Zaitsev expressed sincere gratitude to the veteran for his military and labor exploits, wished him good health, good spirits and well-being in the family.
