Veterans of student detachments from 10 regions of Russia, including Crimea, united to help residents of Primorye
In the Primorsky district of the Arkhangelsk region, the All-Russian detachment of Snow landing veterans “Old Guard” continues to work. The team members — 34 veterans of student teams from 10 regions of Russia — have already spent two busy days of work, providing targeted assistance to residents and holding educational meetings with young people. Particular attention was paid to the participation of representatives of the southern regions in the landing force: the Crimean regional branch of the RSO at the forefront of the Arctic landing is personally represented by its leader Ekaterina Denesyuk.
On February 25, the “Old Guard” detachment worked in the villages of Khorkovo and Bobrovo. Veterans provided targeted assistance to local residents: they dismantled the old bathhouse, removed bushes and old boards, and cut down dry branches in the local areas. An extensive educational program was organized for schoolchildren: career guidance meetings, master classes on arts and crafts, “Conversations about Important Things” and digital literacy lessons. The day ended with sports activities and a creative concert in the Lyavlensky rural house of culture.
On February 26, the villages of Katunino and Vaskovo picked up the baton. The central event was the Lesson of Courage, which was conducted by the guest of honor — the chairman of the regional branch of the Russian Military Historical Society, Sergei Kovalev. As part of their patronage assistance, veterans cleared snow from the Katunin monument, the legendary IL-28 Airplane Monument, and the roofs of children’s art schools. The patriotic thread of the program was reinforced by laying flowers at military graves.
It is a great honor for me to be part of the “Old Guard” here in the northern land, because student groups are a family where there are no distances or boundaries. The participation of Crimea symbolizes the inextricable connection between our regions and the continuity of generations, when veterans of the movement, by their example, show young people what true service to people means. Working in such harsh but hospitable conditions gives an incredible boost of energy: we don’t just clear the snow or help with housework, we pass on the labor code of student detachments, which helps to create and unite the country, and I am sincerely glad that the Crimean experience is woven into the history of this large-scale landing, bringing real benefits to the residents of the Primorsky District,” commented Ekaterina Denesyuk, head of the Crimean regional branch of Russian student groups.
In addition to work tasks, the vocal group of the detachment held a series of performances: on February 25 — for participants in the First Movement and the Youth Army, and on February 26 — for the veteran communities of the city. The organizers of the action are the State Autonomous Institution JSC “Headquarters of Youth Labor Detachments of the Arkhangelsk Region”, the Council of Veterans of Student Detachments of the Arkhangelsk Region and the Arkhangelsk Regional Branch of the Russian Socialist Republic with the support of the “Region for the Young” program and the national project “Youth and Children”.
