Wheels for VAZ disappeared along with payment: fraud in Saki region

In the city of Saki, criminal investigation officers helped uncover a fraud that a local resident, an employee of an auto parts store, encountered.

In May last year, the woman trusted a regular customer, who promised to pay for the goods in the near future. Without doubting the client’s integrity, the seller gave her four tires and wheels for a VAZ-2109 car with a total value of more than 21 thousand rubles. However, the money never arrived, and the buyer stopped communicating.

Having contacted the police, the applicant received help from law enforcement officers. During operational activities, employees of the criminal investigation department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia “Saksky” established the identity of the suspect. She turned out to be a 33-year-old resident of the Saki district. The investigator opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Fraud”. A preventive measure was chosen against the suspect — a written undertaking not to leave the place. She faces punishment of up to five years in prison. The damage was partially compensated.
