With the support of the Sevastopol personnel center, a mother of many children opened a candle-making workshop

Mother of three children Diana Smirnova turned her hobby into her own business — now she has a workshop for making candles and decorative items. The recruitment center “Russia’s Work” in Sevastopol helped us get started. After weighing all the pros and cons, the girl left the hiring process and turned to the personnel center for support.

After maternity leave, I worked as an assistant teacher in a kindergarten. There was almost no time left for family and creativity, and the orders became more and more numerous. Then I realized: my hobby could become the main source of income. She used the funds to set up a workshop and purchase materials: wax, plaster, silicone molds, flavors and wicks. Diana’s works can be found in flower shops, marketplaces and seasonal fairs. She also conducts master classes, participates in recruitment center events, and is preparing to present her products in December at the New Year’s exhibition “Tree of Success 2025.” At the exhibition, Sevastopol residents who opened a business with the support of the employment service will show their projects.

The state support program to promote starting a business will continue to operate in 2026.
