Yalta and Alushta are among the top popular holiday destinations near the park area in December

December is the month when the New Year celebrations are very close. And not everyone wants to celebrate the holiday among the lights of the big city; many prefer to quietly stroll through the park. Or — spend it by decorating a live Christmas tree in the forest. Today, many travelers specifically choose housing near a park or forest — the air there is usually cleaner, and also quieter and calmer. Where do people most often settle near the park area?

The Russian hotel and apartment booking service TVIL.RU, based on data from requests and applications, has identified the most popular destinations chosen by tourists in December 2025, where there is a park or forest no further than 500 m from housing. First place was shared by Moscow and Sochi, which each collected 8% of bookings near parks. In second place is St. Petersburg, and in third is Yalta (7% and 5% of bookings, respectively).
